Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough clinical assessments and deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Implement and follow physician orders, nursing policies and established standards of care
• Provide independent, professional nursing interventions and complete assignments with accountability
• Support patients and families with compassionate communication, education and advocacy
• Participate in required competency trainings and maintain current certifications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and referrals as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state (Arizona RN license not required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within one year of hire
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within one year of hire
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within one year of hire
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) to be completed within six months of hire
• Emergency Severity Index Level 5 to be completed within three months of hire and Patient Sitter Competency upon hire
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency department

Education

• Active RN license (any U.S. state)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and triage in emergency settings
• Emergency department procedures and patient stabilization
• Strong patient care and bedside skills across all age groups
• Adherence to physician orders and hospital nursing policies
• Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Competency in trauma and pediatric emergency care (TNCC, ENPC)
