Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough clinical assessments and deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
- Implement and follow physician orders, nursing policies and established standards of care
- Provide independent, professional nursing interventions and complete assignments with accountability
- Support patients and families with compassionate communication, education and advocacy
- Participate in required competency trainings and maintain current certifications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and referrals as needed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state (Arizona RN license not required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within one year of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within one year of hire
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within one year of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) to be completed within six months of hire
- Emergency Severity Index Level 5 to be completed within three months of hire and Patient Sitter Competency upon hire
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency department
Education
- Active RN license (any U.S. state)
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and triage in emergency settings
- Emergency department procedures and patient stabilization
- Strong patient care and bedside skills across all age groups
- Adherence to physician orders and hospital nursing policies
- Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
- Competency in trauma and pediatric emergency care (TNCC, ENPC)
