Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents — assist with daily living activities and dignity-preserving support
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding and mobility needs
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any significant changes
- Document resident status and care provided in a timely, clear manner
- Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the care team to ensure coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Active state registry or eligibility to be listed as a CNA
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting and supporting diverse resident needs
- Background check and required immunizations per facility policy
- Previous CNA experience is a plus, but enthusiasm and a great attitude count too
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control practices and safe hygiene
- Patient transfer and positioning techniques
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to build rapport with residents
