Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality orthopedic and medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policies
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to support patient recovery
• Educate patients and families on post-op care, mobility, pain management, and discharge planning
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain regulatory compliance
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklists to maintain excellence

Qualifications

• Active RN license (License/Certificate Verification required)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience or interest in Orthopedic Nursing and Medical-Surgical Nursing
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to complete required health screenings: fit test, drug screen, immunizations, TB testing, and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of orthopedic post-operative care and medical-surgical principles
• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care, mobility assistance, and pain management
• Proficiency with medication administration, IV therapy, and monitoring
• Clear communicator who works well within interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable documenting in electronic health records and following clinical protocols
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in fast-paced clinical situations
