Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for orthopedic and robotic procedures, ensuring sterile technique and instrument readiness
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, anticipating needs, and maintaining a sterile field
• Set up and troubleshoot robotic equipment in collaboration with the surgical team
• Perform instrument counts and documentation to support patient safety and regulatory compliance
• Follow Trinity specialty competency and checklist processes to maintain high-quality care
• Verify and maintain required licenses and certifications and support timely competency testing
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists and surgeons to deliver efficient, patient-centered perioperative care

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• BLS certification required
• Experience in orthopedic surgery and comfort with OR robotic systems preferred
• Current license and ability to complete License/Certificate Verification
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Competency Testing as required
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings per facility policy (COVID-19, Tdap, MMR, Hep B, influenza, TB screening, fit test, drug screen)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and OR protocol knowledge
• Familiarity with robotic surgical workflows and instrument sets
• Proven ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical cases
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in the perioperative environment
• Attention to detail for instrument counts, documentation and safety checks
• Adaptability to variable start times and changing OR schedules
