Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist licensed occupational therapists in delivering patient-centered treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to improve daily living skills
- Monitor and document patient progress clearly and promptly in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and equipment use
- Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and ensure compliance with facility protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Ability to work the scheduled day shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Sun–Sat as assigned
- Agency must have an active New Mexico caregivers account (per facility note)
- Available for the contract dates: 2026-01-26 through 2026-04-25
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent accredited program (typical requirement for COTA)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience implementing OT treatment plans
- Skilled in ADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Clear clinical documentation and progress note writing
- Comfortable collaborating with PTs, SLPs, nurses, and case managers
- Ability to modify activities to meet varied cognitive and physical levels
- Good time management and caseload organization skills
