Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered occupational therapy interventions to support regain of daily living skills
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Document patient progress and update the care team with clear, timely notes
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to ensure coordinated rehabilitation
- Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and home programs
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Associate degree or completion of an accredited OTA program strongly preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions
- Demonstrated ability to work in a rehabilitation setting and follow care plans
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field
- Graduation from an accredited OTA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and rehabilitation principles
- Skilled in patient assessment, treatment planning, and progress measurement
- Experience with therapeutic modalities, adaptive equipment, and ADL training
- Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic medical records
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary care team
