Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with MHCB rounding to support patient safety and monitoring
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding)
- Take and record vital signs and report changes to the care team
- Accurately document care activities and observations in patient records
- Maintain a safe, clean environment following facility and infection control protocols
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, custody staff, and clinical teammates
- Help de-escalate situations calmly and follow established safety procedures during MHCB rounds
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Experience or comfort assisting with MHCB rounding preferred
- Reliable attendance and ability to commit to the full-time schedule
- Willingness to complete required facility training
- Professional communication skills and ability to work on a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to pass any required facility screenings or training
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance
- Familiarity with MHCB rounding practices and mental health awareness
- Basic vital signs measurement and recording
- Accurate documentation and charting skills
- Strong observation skills and attention to safety
- Clear communication and teamwork
