Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy assistance to support patient independence in activities of daily living
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of the OTR to help patients reach meaningful goals
- Assist with therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications
- Document patient progress accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic patient care
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and safety strategies to extend therapy gains
Qualifications
- Active COTA certification (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) required
- Current California licensure or eligibility to practice as a COTA
- Ability to work assigned day shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) and adhere to schedule options
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements including background check and immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Previous experience in post-acute, outpatient, or rehab settings is a plus
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (or equivalent) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in activity analysis and adaptive techniques for ADLs and IADLs
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities, assistive devices, and adaptive equipment
- Comfortable with clinical documentation and outcome measurement
- Excellent patient/family education and coaching skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary care team
- Time management and organizational skills for caseload prioritization
