Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care that preserves dignity
• Document care activities clearly and timely in resident records
• Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and other care team members to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or equivalent) — New Mexico certification preferred or eligible to obtain
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification is preferred
• Prior CNA experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred but new grads are welcome
• Ability to pass background checks and required pre-employment screenings
• Reliable, punctual, and compassionate with strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in basic patient care and activities of daily living
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a multidisciplinary team
• Calm under pressure and able to prioritize resident safety
