Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Provide compassionate, respectful personal care that preserves dignity
- Document care activities clearly and timely in resident records
- Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and other care team members to ensure coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (or equivalent) — New Mexico certification preferred or eligible to obtain
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification is preferred
- Prior CNA experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred but new grads are welcome
- Ability to pass background checks and required pre-employment screenings
- Reliable, punctual, and compassionate with strong communication and teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a multidisciplinary team
- Calm under pressure and able to prioritize resident safety
