Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
• Support safe transfers and position patients to prevent skin breakdown
• Document care thoroughly in the electronic or paper record system
• Work collaboratively with nurses and care teams to follow care plans and improve outcomes
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection prevention practices

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Valid CNA license in New Mexico preferred or ability to obtain prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with patient lifting and mobility assistance
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous CNA experience in long-term care or acute settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed CNA training program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs and resident-centered care
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
• Familiarity with patient safety, infection control and standard precautions
• Good documentation and charting practices
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to comfort patients and families
• Basic understanding of mobility aids and safe transfer techniques
