Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, including bathing, dressing and mobility assistance
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with meals and feeding, ensuring dignity and comfort for every resident
- Support safe transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics
- Document care activities accurately in facility records
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification/license for New Mexico (or compact/state-appropriate) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Previous long-term care or assisted living experience preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills such as vital signs, ADL assistance and infection control
- Safe transfer and mobility techniques
- Familiarity with charting and documentation best practices
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow care plans
- Time management and prioritization in a busy care environment
