Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding with dignity and compassion
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and positioning to prevent falls and pressure injuries
• Document care and observations clearly in the patient record
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Provide emotional support and patient-centered communication to residents and families

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in New Mexico
• Active state registry where required and ability to work local assignments only
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and managing typical CNA duties
• Reliable, professional, and able to pass required background and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of patient safety, infection control, and standard precautions
• Ability to take and document vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and team members
• Capable of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills, attention to detail
• Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs during busy shifts
