Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and their families to promote dignity and comfort
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies for safety and infection control
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure individualized care plans are followed and updated as needed

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in New Mexico (state registry required)
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is preferred but new grads with solid training are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of a state-approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and resident care principles
• Ability to measure, record, and report vital signs and observations accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
