Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and changes in resident condition
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive assistance and proper technique
- Communicate clearly with the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, and toileting while preserving resident dignity
- Participate in shift handoffs and accurate charting to support clinical decision-making
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- T-CNA recognized and welcomed (training or certification a plus)
- BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus but not mandatory
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills with emphasis on safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation proficiency
- Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with nurses and therapists
- Comfortable with electronic charting or willingness to learn facility EHR
