Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed PT, delivering meaningful, measurable patient progress
• Assist with gait training, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional mobility to help patients regain independence
• Document patient care and progress accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with PTs, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safe transfers, and injury prevention to empower recovery
• Maintain equipment, uphold safety standards, and contribute to a clean therapeutic environment
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current California PTA license in good standing (required)
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Comfort with documentation in electronic medical records
• Travel or contract experience is a plus but not required

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of therapeutic modalities, gait training, and adaptive equipment
• Skill in delivering therapeutic exercise programs and functional mobility training
• Proficiency with patient assessment and measuring progress toward goals
• Comfort lifting and assisting patients safely using proper body mechanics
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize patient caseloads
• Team-oriented approach and clear communication with interdisciplinary colleagues
