Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled occupational therapy assistant interventions that help patients regain independence and meet functional goals
- Collaborate closely with OTs, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to create and update individualized care plans
- Perform hands-on therapeutic activities and adaptive technique training for daily living tasks
- Monitor patient progress, document outcomes accurately, and communicate changes in status to the care team
- Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies to support long-term success
- Participate in team meetings and contribute professional insights to improve patient outcomes and clinic workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Current Montana licensure or ability to obtain Montana licensure prior to start
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience in inpatient, outpatient, or rehab settings preferred (1+ year recommended)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic activity planning and ADL training
- Knowledge of common adaptive equipment and splinting basics
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Ability to perform safe patient handling and mobility assistance
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage patients and collaborate with teams
