Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem (varies), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition, reporting changes promptly
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices
- Support mealtime assistance and basic nutritional needs with dignity
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
- Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification in good standing
- Valid state authorization to practice (Maryland) as required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
- Reliable attendance and ability to work overnight shifts as needed
Education
- Completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent training
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident dignity
- Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility
- Basic clinical skills: vitals, feeding assistance, hygiene care
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
- Good interpersonal skills for working with elders and families
- Calm under pressure and able to prioritize resident safety
