Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide timely, compassionate emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on clinical need
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per protocol
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient plans
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record
- Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate when appropriate
- Participate in department quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Experience working in an Emergency Department or high-acuity setting is strongly desired
- Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing assessment and triage
- IV therapy, medication administration, and basic emergency procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations
- Prioritization and time-management in a fast-paced environment
