Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Measure and record vital signs, and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
- Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for patients and families
- Accurately document care provided and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to protect patients and staff
- Engage with residents to promote dignity, independence, and emotional well-being
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — active and in good standing
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable providing direct patient care and assisting with mobility
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Ability to pass background and health screenings as required by facility
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in basic patient care tasks: bathing, feeding, toileting, and grooming
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with charting and basic electronic health record entry
- Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety principles
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritize patient needs
- Compassionate interpersonal skills for resident- and family-centered care
