Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and assessment to adult and pediatric patients in an acute care setting
• Manage ventilator settings, perform ventilator weaning, and monitor respiratory mechanics
• Perform arterial blood gas collection and interpretation to guide treatment
• Deliver emergency respiratory interventions as needed and support code responses
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, equipment, and home care needs
• Document assessments, treatments, and responses accurately in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license valid in Georgia (required)
• NBRC credential (CRT or RRT) required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour acute care shifts and adaptable to rotating schedules
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate degree or higher)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Airway management and oxygen therapy modalities
• Familiarity with acute care protocols and emergency response
• Proficient documentation skills in EMRs and clear clinical communication
