Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical care and injury prevention services for student-athletes at a contracted high school
• Cover athletic events and after-school activities, offering timely assessment and immediate care
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop rehabilitation plans for musculoskeletal injuries
• Manage concussion care: assess symptoms, supervise return-to-play progression, and clear athletes when safe
• Document evaluations and treatments accurately and communicate plans with athletes, parents, and coaches
• Perform occupational health tasks including post-offer employment testing (POETs), desk assessments, and functional progress assessments
• Coordinate schedules and coverage for events and serve as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic (take histories, help schedule surgeries, educate patients)
• Analyze root causes of injuries and implement prevention strategies to reduce future risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience
• Current Athletic Trainer license for the state of Wisconsin required
• Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Valid, current driver's license required
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Intermediate to expert computer proficiency
