Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, family-centered critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess and monitor patient status, recognize changes, and intervene promptly
• Administer medications, titrate infusions, and manage advanced life support devices
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Provide clear, compassionate education and support to families during stressful times
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and participate in safety and quality initiatives
• Support unit flow and triage decisions while mentoring newer team members

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license valid in California (or eligible to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) highly preferred
• Clinical experience or strong interest in pediatric critical care (PICU) - previous PICU experience is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Strong communication skills and commitment to family-centered care
• Ability to pass background and credentialing checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care assessment and intervention
• Ventilator management and respiratory support knowledge
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and infusion titration
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Effective teamwork, clinical judgment, and crisis management skills
• Compassionate family communication and patient advocacy
