Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct patient care on the medical-surgical unit with compassion and clinical confidence
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to policies
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings in the medical record
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to drive positive outcomes
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, medications, and discharge plans
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate when appropriate
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and unit performance

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain one
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; additional certifications encouraged (e.g., ACLS) where applicable
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour shifts and providing hands-on bedside care
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med-surg nursing principles and best practices
• Competence with medication administration and IV therapy
• Proficient patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Clear and accurate electronic medical record documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced setting
• Patient and family education techniques and discharge planning
