Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered Med/Surg nursing care with attention to safety and quality
Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and report changes in condition promptly
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
Respond effectively to clinical emergencies and participate in unit-based quality improvement

Qualifications

Current, active RN license in Louisiana (or eligible for state licensure)
BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS or other specialty certifications preferred
Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and support unit staffing needs

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid fundamentals in Med/Surg nursing and patient assessment
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment
Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
