Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, high-quality critical care nursing for ICU patients, ensuring safety and comfort
• Monitor and interpret complex patient data, respond to changes quickly and confidently
• Perform and support critical procedures such as central line and arterial line care and intubation
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and maintain clear clinical communication
• Support unit standards and proactively participate in patient flow and handoffs to maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Texas) with critical care/ICU experience (minimum 1 year as indicated)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Experience working in ICU settings with exposure to central line/A-line care and intubation
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR (preferred) and working with standard ICU equipment
• Strong teamwork, accountability, and a caring approach to patient- and family-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU patient management
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record
• Skill in monitoring ventilated patients and managing advanced life support
• Competence in vascular access care (central lines, arterial lines) and emergency airway management
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with a 2:1 patient ratio expectation
