Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients and their families
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Document care clearly and timely in the patient record to ensure continuity and safety
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required (Alabama license preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS a plus
- Clinical experience on a Medical-Surgical unit preferred
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and provide patient-centered care with professionalism
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
- Medication administration and IV therapy skills
- Proficient in patient assessment, wound care, and post-op care
- Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) and documenting accurately
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a fast-paced setting
