Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg pediatric patients
• Assess patient status, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate charting and ensure compliance with facility policies and protocols
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive, healing environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri) or eligible to obtain
• Experience or clinical competency in Med/Surg nursing with pediatric patient exposure
• Comfortable with 12.5-hour shift structure and fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient- and family-centered approach
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Additional pediatric certifications (PALS) are a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles applied to pediatric care
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and common procedures for pediatric patients
• Patient assessment, critical thinking, and rapid clinical decision-making
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic clinical setting while maintaining safety
