Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients
Assess and monitor patient condition, reporting changes promptly to the care team
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per orders
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans
Document patient care, observations, and interventions clearly and timely
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Support unit flow by prioritizing care, assisting with admissions/discharges, and mentoring newer staff

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or ability to obtain prior to start
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred (clinical competency a plus)
Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to provide safe patient care during 12.5-hour clinical shifts

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and patient assessment
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapies
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment
Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach
