Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages
• Triage and rapidly assess patients to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Perform clinical interventions such as IV placement, medication administration, and wound care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate timely patient care
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient education accurately in the medical record
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and critical situations
• Support patient and family education, providing clear explanations and emotional support

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or Compact RN with Louisiana privileges)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtained quickly
• Previous Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred
• Ability to pass standard background check and drug screening
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently under pressure

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid triage and emergency assessment skills
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and basic ED procedures
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with changing priorities
