Respiratory Therapist
Location: St. Louis, MO
Start Date: 04-28-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Variable schedule, 4-hour shifts (RT). Orientation required. Exact days and start/end times to be determined by facility.
Candidate Pay Rate: $44 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care treatments and interventions for patients
- Monitor and document patient respiratory status and response to therapy
- Operate, troubleshoot and maintain respiratory equipment safely
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in orientation and training activities to stay current with protocols
- Accurately complete documentation and ensure compliance with facility standards
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Active or eligible for state Respiratory Care licensure in Missouri
- RRT or CRT credential preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtainable upon hire
- Previous respiratory therapy experience preferred; strong clinical judgment and patient-centered care mindset
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy (or completion of an accredited RT program)
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Assessment of respiratory status and patient monitoring
- Mechanical ventilator management and basic troubleshooting
- Airway management and oxygen therapy
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
- Clear, concise clinical documentation and charting
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
