Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and observations
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and team
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and the care team to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (state certification required)
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• Comfortable providing direct patient care and assisting with ADLs
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy (e.g., TB screening, flu as required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient-centered care skills and respect for patient dignity
• Accurate vital signs measurement and observation skills
• Good communication and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Basic knowledge of infection prevention and safety procedures
• Reliable documentation and time-management skills
• Ability to follow care plans and report clinical changes promptly
