Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care and assistance with daily living activities
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, and toileting needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and observations
- Support safe transfers and use of mobility aids to protect patients and staff
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through thoughtful communication
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and safe patient transfers
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Prior experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed CNA program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental clinical skills for basic patient care
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and directives from nursing staff
- Strong observational skills to detect changes in patient status
- Teamwork and time management in a fast-paced care environment
