Location: St. Louis, MO
Start Date: 04-28-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Orientation: 4-hour shifts (exact start/end times and regular schedule to be confirmed). PACU (Peds) assignment.
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients with vigilance and clinical skill
- Assess patient recovery status, monitor vitals, and intervene promptly as needed
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and pediatric teams to ensure seamless handoffs
- Educate families and caregivers on immediate postoperative care and discharge instructions
- Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to maintain high-quality standards
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (active) — state licensure requirements will apply
- Experience or clinical background in PACU and pediatric care preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ACLS preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to participate in orientation and unit training as required
Education
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of post-anesthesia recovery and common pediatric postoperative issues
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Ability to perform focused assessments and escalate concerns appropriately
- Comfort working in a perioperative/PACU environment with pediatric patients
- Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
