Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients, tailoring treatments to each child
• Administer respiratory therapies and perform treatments such as nebulization and airway clearance
• Operate and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support equipment with vigilance
• Assess patient respiratory status and promptly report changes to the care team
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and therapists to create coordinated care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient record
• Participate in orientation and training activities to ensure consistent, excellent care

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist licensure in Ohio or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Registry as a CRT or RRT preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; pediatric certifications a plus
• Comfort working with pediatric patients and families in a busy clinical setting
• Flexible per-diem availability and willingness to attend required orientation
• Ability to pass background check and required pre-employment screenings

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical respiratory care skills, including airway management and ventilator knowledge
• Good communication skills with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to assess respiratory status and act decisively in changing situations
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Detail-oriented approach to safety, infection control, and equipment use
