Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients presenting to the ED
- Perform rapid triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of acuity-driven patients
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team
- Document patient care thoroughly and timely in the electronic health record
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or eligibility (Hawaii licensure preferred)
- Experience working in an Emergency Department (ED/ER) setting
- Comfortable working 12.5-hour shift blocks and maintaining clinical focus during high-acuity periods
- Current BLS certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) are a plus
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Rapid assessment and triage skills for emergency presentations
- Trauma and acute care management
- IV therapy, medication administration, and procedural support
- Accurate EHR charting and clinical documentation
- Calm under pressure with strong critical thinking and prioritization abilities
- Effective teamwork and clear communication in fast-paced environments
