Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients using evidence-based practices
• Assess patient status frequently and intervene promptly for changes in condition
• Administer and titrate medications, including vasoactive and critical-care infusions, per protocol
• Operate and monitor ventilators and other advanced life-support equipment safely
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members—physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists—to coordinate care plans
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain RN licensure in Hawaii
• Recent ICU or critical care nursing experience (preferred)
• BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred or obtained upon hire
• Demonstrated ability to manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced life support
• Excellent critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to rotating schedules

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of critical care principles and ICU protocols
• Skilled in ventilator management and advanced airway support
• Proficient with hemodynamic monitoring and titration of critical infusions
• Familiarity with infection control and ICU family-centered care
• Effective triage, assessment, and rapid decision-making under pressure
• Clear documentation and electronic health record competency
