Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients to detect changes quickly and accurately
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced interventions following protocols
• Manage ventilators and advanced hemodynamic support in collaboration with the care team
• Coordinate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to deliver seamless care
• Document patient status and interventions clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact license eligible for practice
• Previous ICU critical care experience required
• Current BLS card required; ACLS certification preferred
• Comfort working 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Up-to-date immunizations, ability to pass background checks and drug screening
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and monitoring
• Ventilator management and weaning principles
• Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication experience
• Familiarity with common ICU procedures and equipment
• Proficient documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Excellent situational awareness, prioritization, and triage skills
