Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered behavioral health nursing care to adults and/or adolescents
• Assess mental health status and perform thorough psychiatric nursing assessments
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications safely and monitor patients for response and side effects
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR
• Participate in orientation, training, and continuing education to stay current with best practices

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Hampshire or compact RN license (must be eligible to practice in NH)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Comfort with crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies
• Ability to pass standard background check and drug screen
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; compassion and resilience are a must

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Behavioral health nursing principles and therapeutic interventions
• Medication administration and monitoring in psychiatric settings
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy
• Collaborative practice with interdisciplinary teams
