Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices
- Document care activities clearly and timely in patient records
- Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Support patient comfort and emotional needs through attentive, respectful interaction
- Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (or eligible) — Pennsylvania certification preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Comfort with lifting and assisting patients as needed; safe patient handling practices
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completed accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs, bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Proficient in taking vitals and observing/reporting patient changes
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
