Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit with strong clinical judgment
- Assess patients’ conditions, monitor vital signs, and promptly escalate changes to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following policies and best practices
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure smooth discharge planning
- Document care in the electronic medical record clearly and timely to support continuity
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and follow-up care to promote recovery
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in New Hampshire)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and Med/Surg certifications a plus
- Clinical Med/Surg experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training considered
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced unit
- Reliable, patient-focused attitude with attention to detail and safety
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and assessments
- Medication administration and IV therapy skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask safely, and manage time on longer shifts
- Patient education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
