Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Med/Surg and pediatric patients
- Perform thorough assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Participate in unit orientation and contribute to a positive team environment
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in California
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clinical experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing and pediatrics
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
- Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks
Education
- Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) or equivalent nursing education
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid assessment skills for adult and pediatric patients
- Medication administration and safe IV/infusion practices
- Familiarity with Med/Surg workflows and pediatric care considerations
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care clearly
- Time management, prioritization, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting
- Patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
