Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (exact start/end times and specific days to be confirmed with the facility)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Neuro Stepdown patients
Monitor neurological status and telemetry, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
Perform thorough assessments and document patient progress accurately
Administer medications and therapies safely, following hospital protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop effective care plans
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted RN license (ability to obtain Louisiana licensure if not already held)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
Previous experience in Neuro Stepdown/SDU, telemetry, or progressive care preferred
Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Neurological assessment and neuro-focused care
Medication administration and IV therapy
Patient and family education techniques
Electronic medical record documentation proficiency
Infection control and safety practices
