Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the Emergency Department
Stabilize and provide evidence-based emergency care for a wide range of acute conditions
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient status, interventions and dispositions clearly and promptly
Prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient safety
Educate patients and families on care plans, follow-up and discharge instructions
Contribute to quality improvement and adherence to clinical protocols

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) with Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience
Comfort working in a fast-paced, acute care setting
Strong assessment, triage and prioritization skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to engage with the Cottage Hospital ED team and support departmental goals

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of emergency nursing principles and rapid patient assessment
Ability to manage acute and unstable patients with confidence
Proficient documentation and clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations
Team-oriented approach and effective communication with colleagues
Familiarity with common ED equipment and workflows
