Shift Type: PACU (Peds) — 4-hour shifts; specific start/end times and days not specified in posting. Orientation required.

Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients coming out of surgery
Continuously monitor and assess patient vital signs and recovery status
Administer medications and pain management per physician orders
Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and families about patient status
Document timely and accurate patient records to support continuity of care
Respond quickly to changes in condition and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri) — required
Experience or interest in PACU and pediatric patient care
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required
Comfort working with children and their families in a perioperative setting
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Team-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills

Education

Nursing diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — appropriate nursing education required

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring for pediatric patients
Pain management and safe medication administration practices
Pediatric airway and basic emergency response knowledge
Effective handoff and interdisciplinary communication
Clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
