Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (Emergency Department); specific start/end times and days vary and will be provided by the facility

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
Perform rapid assessment and triage to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED
Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with protocols
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and code situations
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care

Qualifications

Current RN license (ability to hold or obtain Hawaii RN license is preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
Prior Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and emergency response skills
Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and rapid patient assessment
Trauma and acute care familiarity
IV therapy and medication administration
Cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
Clear, compassionate communication with patients and team members
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus
