Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Assess patient condition, monitor progress, and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient care thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Support a positive, team-oriented clinical environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact/eligible license
• Experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtainable
• Ability to safely work 12.5-hour clinical shifts and provide consistent patient-centered care
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical monitoring for Med/Surg populations
• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Skilled in wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems for charting
• Time management, prioritization, and delegation in a fast-paced setting
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
