Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions that improve patient outcomes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate timely, effective care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring patient responses
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document care clearly and promptly to maintain continuity and quality of care
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive, healing environment

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license (ability to practice in Louisiana preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Previous medical-surgical experience or clinical rotation experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of med-surg nursing principles and best practices
• Familiarity with medication administration and IV therapy
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Ability to perform patient assessments and recognize changes in condition
• Strong critical thinking and time management skills
