Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care under pressure
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to implement patient care plans
• Document patient care and clinical findings clearly and thoroughly in the medical record
• Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and safe transitions of care
• Respond to emergency situations with calm, effective intervention and team coordination

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Hawaii licensure or eligibility preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) highly recommended
• Clinical experience in an Emergency Department (ED/ER) setting preferred
• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a patient-first mindset
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and manage variable ED patient acuity

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment and triage principles
• Trauma-informed care and rapid stabilization techniques
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with common ED equipment and monitoring systems
• Accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients safely
