Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour pre-op shift (Pediatrics); specific start/end times and days not provided. Orientation required. (3 openings)

Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare pediatric patients for surgery with compassion and attention to detail
Perform pre-op assessments and document findings clearly and accurately
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Provide family-centered education and reassurance to children and caregivers
Ensure pre-op orders, consent, and safety checks are completed before procedure start
Maintain a safe, sterile, and welcoming pre-op environment for young patients

Qualifications

Current RN license in Missouri (or compact RN eligible) required
Clinical experience in pre-op or pediatrics preferred
BLS required; PALS is highly recommended
Comfort working with children and their families in a surgical setting
Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric assessment and communication skills
Familiarity with pre-operative protocols and safety checklists
Excellent documentation and charting abilities
Team-oriented mindset; strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Calm under pressure and skilled at comforting anxious patients and families
