Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatments to patients in need
• Perform respiratory assessments, administer therapies, and monitor responses
• Operate and manage ventilators and other respiratory support equipment safely
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Participate in orientation and help mentor new staff when needed
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure equipment is cleaned and ready

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred
• BLS required; ACLS or PALS preferred depending on unit needs
• Comfortable working flexible 4-hour shift blocks and adapting to variable schedules
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings

Education

• Associate degree or completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation
• Skilled in airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized treatments
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy accordingly
• Familiarity with electronic charting systems and accurate documentation
• Solid patient assessment and critical thinking skills during acute events
• Commitment to safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice
